Kim Davis Bursary

This scholarship was established to honour the contribution that the late Kim Davis made to Solstice Theatre.

The purpose of the bursary is to help defray the cost of a course in theatre (acting, stage management, theatre technology, directing, producing) for a Pender Island resident who has made a significant contribution to Solstice theatre.  

The Bursary will be a maximum of $500.00.

If more than one person is successful, the Bursary Committee can decide to divide the money as they deem appropriate.  Funds will be paid directly to the educational institution. The board can also use the bursary to give workshops.  There is no age restriction.

If  the successful applicant is an elementary or secondary student then a certificate for the bursary can be provided for presentation at an award or graduation ceremony at the school.

All applicants will be notified by email if they did not receive the Bursary.

The successful applicant must:

*email their completed application to the Bursary Committee by the deadline March 1st;

*provide details of the course which must be accepted by the Bursary Committee.  Please note this is not for music or dance lessons.  This is for acting, stagecraft, directing, producing, theatre technology, etc.

*have participated in Solstice productions or whose parents have been involved in a substantial way;

*be recommended by the director or producer or stage manager of a production;

Preference will be given to those with financial need.

Preference will be given to those who have not received the bursary before.
