Upcoming Event
Here in Solstice we are excited about having started the rehearsals for our upcoming hilarious comedy ‘4 Weddings and an Elvis’. Actors are getting into their roles and the designs for the stage (a Las Vegas wedding chapel) are becoming a reality including a stained glass window!
Directorial Debuts
A lot of work goes into putting on a production and the team work among cast and crew is what makes it such an enjoyable experience for everyone. April 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th will be the days of performances so mark them down in your calendar. As announced earlier this show is split up into 4 different acts (the 4 weddings) with each act having a different director. This is so we could give new directors a chance to get some experience without them having to take on the responsibility of an entire play right away. Our first time directors for the different acts are Tammy Adolf, Karen Parker, Tania Honan-Smith and a young duo of Sitka Honan-Smith and Grace Parker. For guidance and advice they are assisted by our highly experienced Director team, Evan Llewellyn (Odd Couple, Proof and Office Hours) and Keith Smith (Cinderella and Aladdin).
Acting Debuts
As usual whenever we get the opportunity we are also giving five new actors a chance to show us their previously hidden skills and talent on our stage. A big welcome to Charlie Wilson, Sabrina Werbowski, Tracy Jones, Annette Cyr and Dave Hargreaves. They will be joining some of our more experienced troupe of Tracey Gillespie, Jamie Maclean, Graham Garlick, Matt Adolf, Ethan Smith and Barry Mathias. They and the rest of us are all really looking forward to performing this show for you in April.
Learn a new skill
We are always looking for people, young and old, to join our volunteer run society. If you have any interest in the production side of our shows and would like to learn lighting, sound, set and props design or costumes etc feel free to send us an email at pendersolstice@gmail.com.
